50 Things I Am Proud Of

When my TMS therapy started to kick in, the first thing I wanted to do was to write more. I checked out a couple of books on writing from the library and I’m using my blog as a platform to complete some of the tasks. You may be familiar with The Artist’s Way, and one of the books, The Right to Write, is by the same author, Julia Cameron. The other book was suggested by a group that worked through a JC book together, it is Writing as a Path to Awakening by Albert Flynn DeSilver, which is designed to take a year to work through. The library doesn’t allow me to keep a book for a year, but I may try to check it out once a month, that is if I can finish one month of reading and exercises in the time allowed. Otherwise, it might be a multi-year project. The point is that I feel that these small exercises are doable for today. Today’s exercise is to list 50 things I am proud of… probably harder than it sounds, but here goes…

  2. My #2 kid
  3. Myself for raising two kids on my own (with lots of support from my wonderful family)
  4. Going back to school and finishing my English degree while working full time
  5. The fact that both of my kids are artists
  6. Changing jobs when I was happy
  7. Fixing the air conditioner capacitor
  8. Cleaning the mower carburetor
  9. Being able to change a tire (sometimes)
  10. Standing up to Mr. Ross in 8th grade when he accused me of doing drugs
  11. The number of times I stood up to my ex-MIL when she tried to push me around
  12. The times I have stood up for other people
  13. Giving Free Mom Hugs
  14. Getting rid of my husband x3
  15. Being true to myself in almost every situation
  16. Giving myself grace if a situation takes me out of myself

  19. Hitting my reading goals
  20. Being consistent in my routines
  21. Using my planner each week
  22. Being an annoying morning person
  23. The fact I still have friends from k-12
  24. A poem I once wrote in a creative writing class
  25. The fact I used to run a turkey trot 5k on Thanksgiving
  26. Having friends I have gone to more concerts with than I can count
  27. That I own two of the exact same car
  28. I am hilarious. I once had a teacher say she reread my essay “just for fun.”
  29. I’ve had a few people say I was the best manager they ever had
  30. I always volunteered to go first in speech class
  31. I’ve been a professional public speaker
  32. My work coaching in the PBT Institute
  33. The success of people I have mentored/hired
  34. My Youtube channel with 6 videos about Self-Development

  36. My friends who are coaches and changing lives
  37. Asking for the time off that I need because I can’t function and don’t recognize myself
  38. Being willing to start from scratch a few times in my life
