When my TMS therapy started to kick in, the first thing I wanted to do was to write more. I checked out a couple of books on writing from the library and I’m using my blog as a platform to complete some of the tasks. You may be familiar with The Artist’s Way, and one of the books, The Right to Write, is by the same author, Julia Cameron. The other book was suggested by a group that worked through a JC book together, it is Writing as a Path to Awakening by Albert Flynn DeSilver, which is designed to take a year to work through. The library doesn’t allow me to keep a book for a year, but I may try to check it out once a month, that is if I can finish one month of reading and exercises in the time allowed. Otherwise, it might be a multi-year project. The point is that I feel that these small exercises are doable for today. Today’s exercise is to list 50 things I am proud of… probably harder than it sounds, but here goes…

- Standing up to Mr. Ross in 8th grade when he accused me of doing drugs

- Giving myself grace if a situation takes me out of myself

- I am hilarious. I once had a teacher say she reread my essay “just for fun.”
