Thank you, Groundhog!
As a person diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder and Raynaud’s Phenomenon, I have a vested interest in whether or not my dear friend Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow each year. This year he came through for me and called for an early spring. I immediately went outside and had a picnic.
Groundhog Day is the official midway point between the first day of winter (solstice) and the first day of spring (equinox.) Regardless of whether you believe in Phil’s prediction, this means spring is on the way. I find myself simultaneously energized by the longer days and wanting to hit the metaphorical snooze button. If this was the season of rest… I could use a few more minutes. The bulbs and buds won’t wait for me to catch up on my ZZZ’s though.
Year of the Earth Pig
Happy Lunar New Year!
Let me start by saying I am not an expert in Chinese astrology. I learned a lot from this post by Dana Claudat. I recommend that you head over there and check it out once you finish here. I like the Lunar New Year, because it gives me some time to reassess the goals or intentions I set at the New Year on January 1st.
As I mentioned previously, my intention for 2019 is Adventure. Let’s think about how that one is shaping up so far…
- I’ve already been to two rock concerts. One was free, one was decidedly NOT. But I did use hotel points from previous adventures to get a free hotel stay. It was nice to get away for a bit as a couple and just happened to coincide with our birthdays (three days apart.)
- We took a day-trip adventure to Little Rock to deliver some of my husband’s artwork that he sold. Have I mentioned that everyone in my house is an artist?
- I went on a bald eagle sighting drive one afternoon and saw 2 adults and one juvenile.
This is us at the concert on my birthday.
